Since 2005, Alain Bertrand has worked as an organizational capacity building practitioner and an asset-based community development (ABCD) consultant for Canada-based and international NGOs. His education and personal interests have focused on organizational capacity assessments that emphasize learning and empowerment. He has designed and delivered countless workshops on ABCD, board governance, and strategic planning. Alain worked for the Department of Canadian Heritage from 2003 to 2011, and was engaged within Alberta’s Francophone nonprofit sector from 2011 to 2015.
Alain lives with his wife and two children in Beaumont, Alberta. He has crossed off gorilla trekking in Rwanda off his bucket list and aims to do the same with hiking the Camino Trail in the near future.
